A few days ago I bought a 17" touch screen, LG L1730SF. This is an ordinary LCD panel from LG, but includes a resistive touch screen in an affordable price (about 400 euros in a Finnish web shop, http://www.verkkokauppa.com). I'm planning to put it somewhere in my house, probably hanging on a wall, and use it as a user interface to my Linux-based home server computer. Somewhat similar setup is described at http://www.viitalat.net, with the exactly same display model.
Tämän projektin tarkoituksena on rakennella omakotitalon yhteydessä olevasta katetusta ulkotilasta hieman viihtyisämpi.
Most of the material I'm planning to publish on this site will most likely be found interesting by those who regularly visit websites such as www.slashdot.org and www.digg.com (these two belong to my favorite sites too). Therefore, the language of the user interface, this blog, and the site in general will be English. I am not a native speaker, so please bare with my errors.
Today, 3rd March 2007, I finally started my own website!
For many years I dreamed about spending some time to create a website of my own. I've been quite active computer user for my whole life and learned more than enough about hosting a website (see www.lyrs.fi for example), so from that point of view this could have happened earlier. However, I believe that there should be some meaningful content to be shared - otherwise the website would not be of much use for anyone, and just a burden to me.
